Bipolar 1

"Bipolar 1 disorder, also known as Manic Depression, is a form of mental illness. A person affected by bipolar I disorder has had at least one manic episode in their life. A manic episode is a period of abnormally elevated or irritable mood and high energy, accompanied by abnormal behavior that disrupts life.

Most people with bipolar I disorder also suffer from episodes of depression. Often, there is a pattern of cycling between mania and depression. This is where the term "manic depression" comes from. In between episodes of mania and depression, many people with bipolar I disorder can live normal lives." - Explaination from Web MD.com

Cyclothymia

Cyclothymia, often known as bipolar junior, is a more milder form of Bipolar. It can have the same highs and lows as the other forms but reaches a milder form of Mania called Hypomania. Despite being labelled as "milder", it is still different from how the person normally acts and can be dangerous. If left untreated, Cyclothymia could evolve into one of the other forms of Bipolar.

People with bipolar 2 typically don’t experience manic episodes intense enough to require hospitalization." - Quote from Healthline.com
